Aboriginal Justice Advisory Mechanisms in WA

Aboriginal Justice Advisory Mechanisms in WA

Partner Organisation: Social Reinvestment WA (SRWA)

Project Supervisors: Sophie Stewart (SRWA), Reginald Ramos (SRWA)

Project Mentor: Ruth Dineen (lawyer at Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia)

The aim of this project was to produce a report on potential WA Aboriginal justice advisory mechanisms, primarily, an Aboriginal Justice Advisory Agreement.

The purpose of this report was to propose recommendations for the implementation of an enduring WA Aboriginal Justice Agreement, based on considerations put forward by consultation with stakeholders in other jurisdictions and the models used in those jurisdictions. The research proposed in our report will be used by SRWA to inform their future community engagement and advocacy for the establishment of Aboriginal justice advisory mechanisms in WA.
