First Nations Data Sovereignty (2022)

Partner Organisation: Wungening Aboriginal Corporation

Project Supervisor: Louise Southalan (Project Manager for the Homelessness Research Project) and Lindey Andrews (Specialist Manager Research, Evaluation and Engagement) at Wungening.

Project Mentor: Dalveen Belyea (Consultant) and Amelia Arndt (Lawyer) from Gilbert + Tobin.

Aim:  The team aimed to develop a research report exploring the application of First Nations Data Sovereignty (FNDS) principles to WA’s criminal justice system.

Purpose: The report will assist Wungening in their advocacy for FNDS and aims to provide Wungening with a roadmap of how FNDS may be achieved in a criminal justice context.

The report has been completed and is currently being utilised by our Partner Organisation: Wungening Aboriginal Corporation. Due to the confidential nature of the report - it will not be released on our website.
