Project Mentor: Rachel Hao (Senior Associate) and Julian Sanders (Solicitor) of Herbert Smith Freehills. 

Aim: The project aims to to research ways to boost statutory compliance with the Mental Health Act 2014 (WA) regarding the creation and management of Treatment, Support and Discharge Plans. It also aims to produce an accessible guide for individuals, families and support networks to better understand the options available for enforcing such statutory compliance. 

Purpose: The project’s purpose is to promote greater compliance with the Mental Health Act 2014 (WA) by mental health service providers to alleviate the negative consequences associated when a Treatment, Support and Discharge Plan is not issued to those who need it.
