Project Supervisor: Damien Linnane (University Fellow of the Centre for Law and Social Justice at the University of Newcastle) and Craig Cumming (Research Associate at the University of Western Australia).

Project Mentor: Jessica Edmeades (Lawyer) and Tom Penglis (Graduate) of Gilbert + Tobin.

Aim: To develop a novel and detailed report into the inaccessibility of Medicare within prisons. We will engage in targeted consultations with the healthcare sector to understand the barriers of improving prison healthcare access and develop practical recommendations to overcome it.

Purpose: To propose policy-based Medicare reforms by amplifying the views of healthcare agencies and bring greater awareness of the healthcare inequities experienced by incarcerated individuals.
